In March 2017, a file titled "Master Deeds" containing the personal data of tens of millions of living and deceased South African residents surfaced online. The breach reportedly affected over 2.2 million records. Among the compromised data were names, addresses, ethnicities, genders, birth dates, and government-issued identification numbers.
