In July 2012, Yahoo!'s online publishing platform, Voices, was compromised through a SQL injection attack. The breach led to the disclosure of nearly 450,000 usernames and passwords, which were stored in plain text. Reports indicated that 59% of affected users who also had accounts involved in the earlier Sony breach had reused their passwords across both platforms.
